It's been a busy week here at PlusReed.com. No feature changes, but lots and lots of backend changes.

• PlusReed.com is now tested using Jest and Cypress.
• PlusReed.com has been migrated to TypeScript.
• The Cosmo API now has a GraphQL equivalent.
• Feature flagging is working in PlusReed.com's codebase. There are no feature flags at the moment, but it is there in the event that I need to do testing.

We still have some things in the works that we expect to come out soon:

• Cosmo is moving to TypeScript.
• Cosmo is now tested using Jest. (We're currently at 100% coverage!)
• The /prcom/lastfm route schema in Cosmo is changing to prevent GraphQL errors.
• PlusReed.com will be updated to Tailwind CSS 2.0 soon.
• The changelog page is getting a redesign using Tailwind CSS.

07-29-2020 changelog

i've been doing various changes to the website for a bit, like:

• adding E2E tests using Cypress
• using Tailwind CSS
• removing extraneous HTML attributes/comments that snuck through the webpack comment stripper
• lazy-loading react components
• lazy-loading images

there has also been various bug fixes, like fixing Edge compatibility.

but today, these are the changes that have been made:

• move to dart-sass
• don't use html-webpack-plugin for meta tags
• remove duplicate meta tag
• remove duplicate font-display property in css
• move animate.css to sass file (this leaves no css in the dom)
• fix vulnerabilities with dependencies
• change api_domain in cosmo
• give lazy-loaded react components identifiable chunk names
• move to fontawesome-svg-core
• remove all Segment code
• set up npm-force-resolutions to make fixing vulnerabilities easier
• remove unused mutate classes

hello! again, some more updates to the front page:

• removed Bulma dependency
• moved bundles to /_/${currentCommit}
  reasons for this:
  • cors issues with https://static.plusreed.com/
  • generally easier to manage/upload to production
  • uploading to a separate domain provided no benefit to performance
• entirely new file structure for bundle output

again, development on my new website is still happening! feel free to check it out!

we have finalized our rollout of matomo. matomo is now on the index of plusreed.com, and we will try to push it out to more pages asap.

please note that matomo supports do not track, if that is your thing.

hello! we've done some backend upgrades to improve security.

with these changes, we now have an A+ rating on the qualys ssl test. run the test for yourself!

we've also layed out some frontend changes to the homepage in preparation for our web 1.0 project.
